Elizabeth's Royal Grey Tea

Fine Black Tea

Earl Grey crowned with pomegranate flowers, hibiscus flowers and sweet orange peel. A royal treat for everyday lords and ladies.

Daughter of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I was Queen regnant of England and Ireland from November 1558 until her death. Sometimes called “The Virgin Queen,” Elizabeth was the fifth and last monarch of the Tudor dynasty. The defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588 associated her name forever with what is popularly viewed as one of the greatest victories in English history. Her reign, known as the “Elizabethan Era,” was famous for the flourishing of English drama, led by playwrights such as William Shakespeare and Christopher Morale, and for the seafaring prowess of English adventurers such as Sir Francis Drake. Within 20 years of her death, she was celebrated as the ruler of a golden age, an image that retains its hold on the English people.

Antoinette's French Vanilla Lavender Tea

Fine Black Tea

Let yourself be enchanted by this fine vanilla tea with a hint of lavender, perfect, of course, with cakes.

Marie Antoinette became Queen of France and of Navarre when her husband, Louis XVI of France, ascended the throne in May 1774. After seven years of marriage she gave birth to four children. Initially charmed by her personality and beauty, the French came to dislike her, accusing "the Austrian" of being profligate, promiscuous, and of harboring sympathies for France's enemies, particularly Austria. At the height of the French Revolution, Louis XVI was deposed and the monarchy abolished on August 10, 1792. The royal family was subsequently imprisoned. Nine months after her husband's execution, Marie Antoinette was convicted of treason, and executed by guillotine on October 16, 1793.

Napoleon's Emperor Oolong Tea

Fine Black Tea

This fine Formosa Oolong, in true Napoleonic fashion, protects itself from attack by creating a compound with a great peachy aroma.

Napoleon Bonaparte, born in Corsica to parents of noble Italian ancestry, was a military and political leader during the latter stages of the French Revolution. As Napoleon I, he was Emperor of the French from 1804 to 1815. His legal reform, the Napoleonic Code, has been a major influence on many civil law jurisdictions worldwide, but he is best remembered for the Napoleonic Wars. In 1814 the Coalition invaded France, forcing him to abdicate, exiling him to the island of Elba. Less than a year later, he escaped and returned to power, but was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo. Napoleon spent his last six years in confinement by the British on the island of Saint Helena. An autopsy concluded he died of stomach cancer, though scientists have since conjectured he was poisoned with arsenic.
